DR. ABHISHEK MANU SINGHVI

This top and smart advocate of Supreme Court of India originally belongs to Rajasthan. He was born on 24th February 1959 in Jodhpur. His father Late Dr. Laxmi Mal Singhvi was a jurist and a Senior advocate in Supreme Court of India. He has also been the high Commission of India in England. Abhishek Sir’s Grandfather Late Mr. D.M. Singhvi was a good leader of Congress. His father Late Dr. L.M. Singhvi was an Advocate General of Rajasthan, who initially practiced at Jodhpur and Jaipur High Court. Since childhood Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi was a bright student.

He generally secured 90% marks in all subjects. His father was keen to make him a lawyer and thus Dr. A.M. Singhvi went to Cambridge (U.K.) to study law.

After completing law he also did Ph.D. from there it self and returned to New Delhi to practice in Supreme Court of India.

He joined the office of his father and worked late night to study briefs.

His mind is so sharp that at the age of 34, he was designated as India’s youngest Senior Advocate by Supreme Court itself.

He is having a very good private practice both at Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and also appears in other High Courts of India as and when required. He has been the Additional Solicitor General of India and the Vice President of Supreme Court Bar Association.

He is one of the most busy advocates in Supreme Court on every Monday and Friday (admission Day in Supreme Court). He vehemently argues the case against any big advocate like Rohatgi, Salve, Dhruv Mehta etc. and gives them a tough fight.

Today, Dr.A.M. Singhvi has two sons, both are advocates. The elder one is into consultancy business settled abroad, whereas his younger son is associated with Mr. Shyam Divan (Senior Advocate). His wife Mrs. Anita, too is an Advocate but is not in the active practice and is also a Ghazal Singer.

Dr. Singhviwas a Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha and was also a senior spokesperson of Congress party.
