V. LAKSHMIKUMARAN

Mr. V. Lakshmikumran is a South Indian Lawyer who is the top Taxation Legal Giant. He is an Advocate of Supreme Court having expertise in Taxation Laws.

He did his M. Sc. In Mathematics from University of Madras and then did LL.B from the same University with Gold Medal. Later he appeared in UPSC exam and became an officer of “Indian Revenue Services” (I.R.S.). he worked as an IRS officer for 10 year and left his job to become a full time lawyer.

Today, he is the founder of Top Indirect Tax Law Firm “Lakshmikumran & Sridharan (L&S) having various offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai etc. he also does IPR cases.

Lakshmikumaran advises companies in all areas of taxation, including International Taxation and Transfer Pricing, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs. Excise, Service Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Foreign Trade Policy, and Special Economic Zones, offering consulting, advisory, litigation and compliance services. He has also successfully represented clients from many countries in several anti-dumping, subsidy and trade investigations initiated by India. Lakshmikumaran has been recently appointed as a Distinguished Fellow in NITI Aayog, New Delhi. In this very senior position, he is advising Government of India and initiating number of policy initiatives in the field of economic laws, trade, and investment etc.

Additionally, he is also advising the Indian Ministry of Commerce as Advisor and participating in the FTA negotiations. WTO negotiations and other legislations initiated by the Ministry.

He regularly delivers talks on diverse topics in international tax, transfer pricing, international trade, customs, excise, service tax, intellectual property, and corporate laws. He has been invited to speak at several acclaimed institutions in India and abroad. He has also written extensively on these topics for various publications.

He established the law firm Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (L&S) in 1985 and has developed the practice in Tax, International Trade, Intellectual Property (IP) and Corporate laws.
